Trail history as you begin your one of a kind journey from here. Years ago, Dr. Ambedkar began his journey into Buddhism from the sacred monument of Deekshabhoomi. As you wait for your crew to assemble, make a visit to the historic shrine with highest Stupa in Asia.

Take right from the fork dividing SH 264 and the NH 44 on the exact opposite side of Deekshabhoomi. The steep rock walls alongside the roads and stone quarries has a reputation of intimidating first-time riders. The roads are exhausting, so halt for a short meal from a local dhaba with an energizing cup of tea.

You’ve now crossed into Telangana and would notice it in the change of scenery. The rocky mountains have now been replaced by splendid waterfalls. The beauty of the falls here is that the water currents are soft and mild in spite of the height. Adilabad is where you will experience peace and solitude.

As you ride a little further along the NH 44, you will feel the crispness in the air and hear the constant roar of the waterfalls at a distance. While at Pochera, take a 20 km detour to explore and click pictures along the Kuntala and Godavari river bridges. Have a light snack here, as you are about 80 km from your destination because there aren’t many clean hotels ahead.

After you get back on to the NH 44, the 3 hour ride to Sahastrakund will take you through a number of tunnels and blind turns. Said to be on the Nanded-Yavatmal border, the rock faces here look like black metal when wet, creating an interesting optical illusion. Don’t forget to click a picture to puzzle your friends back home.
