Panvel is the best place to meet up, since it is the main entry/exit point to and from Mumbai. This is also the best place to do last-minute checks and fill up your tanks, since there are a number of petrol pumps and spare parts shops nearby
The busy bus stand at Vadkhal has some of the tastiest tea shops in the area. This junction is also on the Mumbai-Goa, so you can expect heavy traffic all throughout the day. Progress will be slow here, by the way.
Another one of those hidden surprises in the Konkan region, Mangaon has some of the best roadside eateries in Maharashtra. The roads here are surrounded by trees, so you will really enjoy this stretch. Petrol pumps are scarce here, so we suggest that you get your tank filled to the brim wherever you find one.
The revered Kashedi Ghats begin here. This is where you have to be on your toes all the time. Full of blind corners, hairpins and steep downhill patches. Kashedi will really test your skills as a biker
All that hard riding in the Kashedi ghats will surely work up an appetite! So Chiplun is where you should fuel up on some authentic Konkan food. Don’t miss the “Sol kadhi” and the “Kokum” juice here, because they taste divine. Beware of the monkeys while heading out of Chiplun, though.
The balmy sea breeze will refresh you and your gang, because you have finally hit the legendary Konkan coastal roads when you reach Rajapur. A place steeped in history, Rajapur has a number of hot springs that you would like to dip your feet in.
Cool, pleasant and refreshing, the weather here will make you forget all your exhaustion. Located in the Sindhudurg district, Kankavli also has some of the biggest mango orchards in India. This is where the famous “alphonso” mangoes come from.
Malvan Taluk is the home of the world-famous “Malvani” cuisine and the Sindhudurg fort, Malvan is surrounded by beaches and rivers. We also suggest you go scuba diving here, because the coral reef here are extremely beautiful.
