Do watch out for naughty monkeys on the way to Lonavala. We suggest a halt at the service road from the Mumbai-Pune Expressway to satisfy the shutterbugs in your crew. Lonavala has a number of good hotels, where you can fuel up on some tasty "misal pao".

The Lohegad forest road detour is a must if you are looking to get close to nature and get a feel of India's rich history. At the top of the forest road is the fort, which is worth a trek, as it rewards you with a God-like view of he countryside.

The famous, although supposedly haunted Khambetki Ghats should be your next halt. We are guaranteed that the view will leave you spellbound, as the best of the Sahayadris greets your eyes!

Situated in the midst of five hills, Wai is a goldmine for photographers, bikers and adventure sports lovers alike. From here, you can see the entire Mahabaleshwar countryside. The ride till now might be a little tiring, so we suggest a halt at one of the many tiny snack stalls.
