And you're in Arunachal Pradesh already! Bhalukpong, a popular adventure tourism destination, is located along the Tipi River. The roads here are isolated, so please ride with a full tank until you exit this little gem of a town.
To first-time visitors, Bomdila will seem like a ghost town. Tourism is new here, so be prepared for below-average, extremely tight roads. The roads do get snowed over completely in winter, so we suggest extreme caution while riding through here. The steep, snowy Shangti Valley might intimidate the inexperienced riders among you, by the way.
Don't get alarmed if you spot yaks at the luscious corners en-route to Dirang! That's because there is a Yak research facility here. While at Diwang, we suggest a halt at one of the many beautiful tourist lodges. Also, do have a go at the bridge over the Kameng River. It really is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Camping at the Shangti Valley is definitely recommended if you love the outdoors.
Ready to ride at 13,700 feet above sea level? You better be, as the Sela Pass is the one and only road that connects it to the rest of the country. Traffic will be moderate depending on the weather, so progress might be slower than expected. The temperatures here sometimes reach -10 degrees, so better break out the winter gear!
